My Top 8 Favourite Christmas Decorations from Dallas Gift Fair

After looking at the top 5 Christmas Decorating Trends we spotted at the Dallas Market in my last post, I thought I would share my favourite finds from the show.

For those who don't know me, my style is definitely skewed to the whimsical and fun when it comes to Christmas. I love colour, fun, childish, and stylish decorations. Anyway, let me know if you also like any of these finds. Cheers, Nicole.

1. Baby's First Christmas Ornaments You might think this is an odd spot to start, but every year I look for cute Baby's first Christmas decorations, and every year I'm presented with disappointing cheap looking ornaments. This range is cute, fun and can be personalised. They also come gift boxed. Perfect!

2. Gelati Colours I love these gelati colours. They are fun, feminine and will work in well with either silver or gold as a base. I particularly love the gingerbread free-standing piece (back right of the photo) and will definitely have him sitting on my kitchen bench this year.

3 & 4, Foliage: There are 2 different types of foliage or picks that I just loved at the fair. The first were these whimsical swirly picks. I can't wait to add them to trees as well as use to make sensational centre pieces and table-top pieces.

The second foliage is a simple leaf. You might wonder why I got so excited. It is amazing how difficult it is to find a simple leaf pick that is the perfect size and colour, and we can sell them for under $5. This particular pick we have purchased in about 15 different colours!! and that is really exciting. It is the perfect size for both trees and display pieces. Can't wait to receive them so I can have a play!

5. Snow globe I love snow globes but always find it difficult to find beautiful pieces. This guy, as well as the nutcracker behind are just too gorgeous. While these two pieces will be a bit pricey (over $100) I still love getting one feature piece each year, and this year it is this snowglobe.

6. Painted cake stands These hand painted cake stands (as well as a range of lolly jars) are (I hope) going to be coming our way this year. They are from one of my all-time favourite designers, Glitterville. I love that they are perfect to sit out on your counter all year, or save them for special occasions such as Christmas, Easter and birthdays.

7. Mesh, mesh, every where. We had so much fun playing with the deco mesh last year and it was great seeing the complete range of products in Dallas. This product is perfect to wrap through a tree, wreaths and garlands. So easy to work with, we will create lots more decorating tips on how to use this fabulous product for all our customers.

8. Lisa Frost Any of our Facebook or blog followers know I love Lisa Frost! She creates whimsical, fun decorations that make you smile - what more could you ask for? When we (my husband and I) took our Christmas Shop Road Trip through the States last year, Lisa and her family opened their home to us and you couldn't have met a nicer family. I think the Frosty snowmen and the advent calendar are particularly cute.

So, there are some of my favourite finds from Dallas. What do you think? If you are a traditionalist these may not be for you (but I promise I've bought lots of gorgeous traditional pieces too). Would really love your feedback.

Cheers, Nicole.
